Christ’s Church at Virginia Tech campus ministry

is a non-denominational Christian community of students who:

--believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God

--believe the Bible is the infallible Word of the one and only true God, and therefore embrace it as our first & final authority for faith & practice as it contains all the truth needed for salvation and living in Christ. (2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12)

--strive to put our faith in action, to keep growing in our knowledge and love for God, and to transform our world by living as Jesus lived. (James 2:14-26, Colossians 1:9-12, Romans 12:1-2)

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever." -- Isaiah 40:8

The Song

Have you seen the movie, "The Song", yet? I know several students who have and they all said it was really, really good, so now I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

People seem to have strong emotional reactions to the story in this movie. Some people get really mad at the main character. Michael said in an understated way, "It made me feel," by which he meant, in a very strong way such that the first thing he wanted to do when the movie was over was go and give Alex a hug and tell her how much he loves her. Catherine said she liked the movie so much she would like to see it again. So these are the kind of reviews The Song is getting from students like you. I hope you will come and see what all the fuss is about and watch the movie with us.

We'll be watching it together at the campus house this Friday at 7pm on our big screen.

Feel free to invite your friends to come join us, too!

Let's enjoy some delicious snacks while we watch the movie. If you have a favorite "movie snack" you love to eat while watching a movie, feel free to bring some to share. We don't need everybody to bring something. We already have a few snacks, so don't feel obligated to bring anything. Just an option if you want to share the joy of your favorite movie snack with others.

See you Friday at 7pm!

Great News!

cid:E5F08BAD-8F2E-4465-A473-8D7E0573F997

Hey CCVTers I have great news to share!

Michael took our collected baby bottles (and one giant pickle jar) full of change in to the Pregnancy Resource Center and our total amount tallied up to $375.39 collected to support the worthy ministry of the PRC! Praise God!

This is more than me and the people I talked to expected us to collect, so we are pretty excited about it. Let's celebrate and thank God for this!

"The gifts you sent, [are] a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God." (Phillipians 4:18, ESV)

Here's the thank you note the PRC sent us:
"Thank you so much for being a part of our 2015 Baby Bottle Campaign. Your church’s generous gifts change the lives of our clients every day. As of March 19th, the total for Christ’s Church at Virginia Tech is: $375.39 with 19 bottles (and 1 giant pickle jar) returned! Please be sure to share this total with your church or group. We appreciate your support of the PRC!"

Thanks for your generous participation in CCVT's Baby Bottle Campaign for the PRC!

God bless you!

CCVT's Got Talent

Don't forget, everyone, 7:30pm this Friday night is CCVT's Talent Show! Come on out to support your friends who are performing and discover what hidden talents have lain hidden within CCVT all this time and you didn't even know it!

Rumor has it the fabulous Michael Starr and his back up singers are planning a fantabulous performance which is sure to make him the "Starr" of the show (although Joe may be able to give him a run for his money). I've heard several other intriguing possibilities too, but I'm not privy to the latest information on who is performing what. Brittany is handling all that.

Hope to see you all at the Talent Show Friday night at CCVT's campus house!
